Friends of St.Chad's
The Friends of St.Chad’s is
a charity, with an annual subscription of £5, whose purpose is to "preserve
and maintain ... this beautiful church". Its funds are used for the
internal decoration, renewal and enhancement of the church, and are raised
in two ways; first by organising about six social events each year, and
second by operating the St.Chad's Tea Room which is open throughout the Shrewsbury
Flower Show. The social events, include concerts, garden walks, coffee
mornings, barbeques and speakers. The committee of The Friends comes mainly
from the congregation, but enthusiastic others are welcome. Details on events in April, May and August 2008 available here.
